Moto Watch 100

Moto Watch 100 is the official companion application for Motorola's smartwatch. GBot built the mobile app responsible for pairing, device management, and data synchronization between phone and watch.

Overview

A wearable is only as good as its connection to the phone. This app is the official bridge between Moto Watch hardware and iOS and Android — handling setup, device management, and the steady flow of health and notification data — and it had to be dependable enough to carry the Motorola name.

The Challenge

Companion apps live or die on connection reliability, and this one had to operate within the constraints of existing device firmware. Bluetooth pairing and reconnection needed to be rock-solid, data synchronization predictable, and behavior consistent across a wide range of phones.
